Gospel: John 6:1-15 “Five barley loaves and two fish” Our hunger pangs may be physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. And the most prevalent these days is “ayuda” to quench what the body needs, especially to those who have lost their means due to the pandemic. Is it sufficient to see us through these days? While our body needs food, our spirit needs food too. And where to draw this spiritual food? Through PRAYER. Consistent, sincere and loving dialogue with Jesus allows us to listen to his plans for our welfare. He has our best interest at heart. And this mature dialogue will prompt us to respond to his call. He is a God of abundance. And from whatever little we have, we ought to give to those who are in need. There is nothing too little in what we can share generously just as the boy did in the parable. And when we do, we allow the spirit of multiplication to flow through us. God loves a cheerful giver! #PrayVD

Gospel: John 3:31-36 “God gives the spirit without reserve” The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom, guides us to the right path, fills us with knowledge and understanding. We have unlimited capacity if only we allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us. And it opens up to the many possibilities we have never imagined possible! When we do, we enjoy the fruit of the spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. So today, we call on everyone to pray, “Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on us!” Let us ask Jesus today for the gift of the Holy Spirit! #PrayVD

Gospel: John 3:16-21 “God so love the world” “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” The whole message of Jesus life is central on love and loving you and me. Are you convinced of this? The circumstances we are right now might cause you to doubt. But that is the truth. Easter brought us a renewal of faith, strengthening our hope and build our endurance in this seemingly darkness. Let’s us all the more draw to him in prayer so that the light of Jesus enters into us and lighten our burdens. Once we affirm and embrace this truth that Jesus loves us to bits, we have hope of what is yet to come. Keep the faith, Easter people! #PrayVD

Gospel: John 3:7-15 “The Son of Man must be lifted up” “And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life”. Gaze upon the cross. What do you see? Can you fathom the depth of God’s love for you? What he dreams for you? Everything the Father did for you and me is rooted in his great love for us! Look again on the cross and give thanks to the risen Jesus! We, undeserving, accept this great gift of eternal life! Let us continue to pray that Jesus will strengthen our faith in him and in his power that despite our current situation he will give us full life! Praying as well to the sensitivity each day to the prompting of the Holy Spirit’s guiding as to where the wind blows. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 3:1-8 “You must be born from above” Indeed “how can anyone be born after having grown old?” Jesus answered explicitly, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit”. Every Easter we are all invited to renew our baptismal commitment. Reflecting on this, have you had that sense of being re-born or transformed as a result of being baptized? If still there is lack of clarity, let us ask the grace to know where Jesus is inviting us in areas of our life that needs to be transformed. The Holy Spirit alone gives us the strength and courage to lead us back into our identity as Beloved of God. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 20:19-31 Peace be with you How beautiful is it that during the time when the disciples were hiding for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”? Jesus today wants to teach us that we are no far different from the disciples then as he is the same God who was, is and will always be coming in the midst of our fears to give us the peace we need. Oh dear Jesus Christ, thank you so much for the gift of Holy Spirit, for the gift of peace, for the gift of love you continue to shower us. May we continue to seek you in order for us to be able to seek peace too. #PrayVD

Daily Guidelines: April 10, 2021April 10 2021 Saturday
Gospel: Mk 16:9-15 Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to all creation. Jesus in the gospel today rebuked the disciples for their unbelief and hardness of heart by telling them to go out to the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation. In the same way, Jesus is calling you to still promptly GO, do and be the mission even and specially when doubt gets the best of you. He wants to remind you today that the mission doesn’t change. The mission remains the same – through us as it works within us. A wounded healer, aren’t we? Dear Jesus Christ, kindly grant us the wisdom to GO beyond even our own doubts, unbelief and hardness of heart in order for us to go out to the whole world to proclaim the gospel to all creation. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 21:1-14 'Haven't you caught anything, friends?' In the Gospel today, the disciples listened to Jesus when He instructed them to throw the net on the right side of the boat. When they did, they were able to catch one hundred and fifty-three big fish in their nets. To which side of the boat is Jesus telling you to throw your net? At which side of the boat is your net in? What is the one hundred and fifty-three big fish (and more) that Jesus wants you to catch? Are you ready to cast your net on the right side? Dear Holy Spirit, please help us muster the courage to prepare for the big catch Jesus wants us to have in our lives – may we never be afraid to admit to Jesus when our own ways seem to not catch anything and embrace the new ways He is teaching us to do. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Lk 24:35-48 They still could not believe, they were full of joy and wonder Have you ever felt the same as the disciples have in the Gospel – not understanding the joy and wonder in your heart caused by the presence of Jesus? The Lord is saying this to you today: allow yourself to be in awe of His capacities. Allow yourself to be full of joy and wonder! Allow yourself to let Jesus into your heart and soul! Dear Jesus, we pray that you help us not to completely understand Your ways but to completely trust in You. To embrace not the unknown but Your love – the only kind that can make us believe how we can be full of so much joy and wonder! #PrayVD

Daily Guidelines: April 7, 2021April 7 2021 Wednesday
Gospel: Lk 24:13-35 Jesus himself came up and walked by their side Have you realized how many times just like in the Gospel Jesus was trying to include Himself in our normal day activities but because we’re too focused on ourselves (our feelings included), we tend to be blinded for the daily miracles He’s giving us? Jesus wants you to take a moment today to simply recognize even the littlest indication that He is by your side. Jesus wants you to recognize how much He’s very happy and willing to come up and walk by your side today. Because he is – for always. Dear God, thank You for being persevering to be with us no matter what the situation is. Thank you for being by our side not only to our walk to Emmaus but to our walk to our daily cross. Amen. #PrayVD |
