Gospel” Matthew 11:20-24 “they had not repented” They had not repented because they had not recognized all the wonderful things Jesus had done for them. There are still countless people who right before their eyes, Jesus is doing great miracles in their lives yet they don’t see. When we open our eyes and really allow God to touch our lives, our first reaction really is to have the desire to be better, to be sorry for how we have been wasting our lives. Holy Spirit, may this day not pass without us savoring what the good Lord has done for us today. #PrayVD

Mt 9:32-38 "The harvest is plenty but the laborers are few" The gospel invites us to look at the world in the same way as Jesus. Jesus sees the world with pity because people are troubled and restless. People are also abandoned and does not feel any love at all. Being disciples of the word of God, we are invited to share the faith that we have to the restless people. Maybe they are restless because they are scared of the unknown but with faith; they will be assured by God. We are also invited to share God's love to the abandoned so that they will feel how God loves them so much. Mama Mary, guide us as we journey as disciples of God so that we can share God to the troubled and abandoned. #PrayVD

Mt 9:18-26 "Your faith has saved you" In the gospel, the woman who was suffering hemorrhages for twelve years was cured when she touched Jesus. She has faith that she will be cured. This tells us that to be able to see the marvelous things God has for us we should have faith. Without faith we will not see nor appreciate God who is working always in our lives. Faith brings healing to us. Faith brings hope to us because we know God will always be there. Faith gives fulfillment to our lives. Holy Spirit grant us the gift of faith so that we may be able to see and appreciate how God loves us so much. #PrayVD

Gospel: Matthew 5:43-48 “Love your enemies” “If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that?” Perhaps you have someone in mind as you read this. What is your gut reaction to this challenging teaching of Jesus? The invitation of Jesus to “love your neighbor” includes the unlovable too! Set your gaze on Jesus at the cross, he loved till the end! “Pray for those who persecute you!” Yes, persevere in prayer . Pray for the gift of forgiveness . Jesus wants nothing less from us . Now, bring to mind the people who have hurt you. Place them before Jesus and ask him to bless them. May healing and peace reign in you and their heart. #PrayVD

Gospel: Matthew 5:38-42 “Go the extra mile” “An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth”. We see and hear endless fightings everywhere. Be it in Israel, in our local front or perhaps , in your home. Personally, when we are wronged our impulse is to get even! However, Jesus suggest otherwise. To do good to those who wrong us. Stop keeping score, forgive and love! By ourselves, we cannot do this . We need the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be kind, gentle, peaceful and loving as Jesus does. Let us call on the Holy Trinity and Mama Mary to help us be transformed into a forgiving and loving person . To sow peace . The world is broken enough with the pandemic, economic and ecological issues . Let us continuously pray that each day we may be a channel of peace, joy and love to every person we encounter today. #PrayVD

Gospel: Mk 4:26-34 To what shall we compare the Kingdom of God In the Gospel today, Jesus was comparing the Kingdom of Heaven to a mustard seed and how it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and through it all the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how. In the same way, let’s examine ourselves -- what is the Kingdom of Heaven for me? What am I doing in my life today to be where I am supposed to be? Holy Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, please grant us wisdom so that we will be able to live the kingdom of heaven even here on earth. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Lk 2:41-51 Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house? In today’s Gospel, we see young Jesus’ parents looking for Him only to find him later in the Church where Jesus told them: Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house? In the same way, we tend to be “lost” in our lives just like what the parents of Jesus thought He was -- but how beautiful is it that we can always find ourselves inside the Father’s house -- inside our Father’s heart. Holy Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank You for continuously reminding us that we can always turn to where You are whenever we feel lost in ourselves. Amen.

Gospel: Jn 19:31-37 For this happened so that the Scripture passage might be fulfilled In the Gospel today, there is a line that says: in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross…. In the same way, we are reminded today that our bodies are not meant to remain on the cross. What cross do you have in your reality? Misunderstanding in your family? Friend? Self? Job? Jesus wants you to know that you are not meant to stay in the cross -- that the cross you have now -- you will gracefully overcome! Holy Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, help us understand more how we can work on our crosses in out realities of life so that we will not be the same person again -- but renewed and reborn. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Mt 5:20-26 Go first and be reconciled with your brother The Gospel today reminds us of our responsibility as a Christian -- that we have our responsibility to each other, our neighbors as it forms part of our responsibility to God. Jesus in the Gospel wants us to examine our relationships at the moment -- do we take care of them? Do we make an effort for our neighbors? For our relationships? Holy Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, please help us understand more deeply how we can make our relationships with others better by putting you always at the center. Amen. #PrayVD

Gospel: Mt 5: 17-19 I have come not to abolish but to fulfill In the Gospel today, Jesus said this to the disciples: I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Here’s a question: with your current reality, can you confidently say the same? Living not to abolish but to fulfill the commandments? Let’s all take a moment today to simply reflect and see where we are and what we do -- how do we fulfill God’s promises through our very lives? How can we make our contributions better? Holy Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, help us to always better ourselves in order that not only do we fulfill our mission -- but help others fulfill theirs too. Amen. #PrayVD |
