Prayer Buddies: June 13, 2018"MY PEOPLE ARE DOOMED BECAUSE THEY DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ME. YOU PRIESTS HAVE REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE ME AND HAVE REJECTED MY TEACHING, AND SO I WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SONS AS MY PRIEST" (HOSEA 4:6)
The Eucharist brings us to know Christ more of his love, sacrifices and salvific work for all of us as we are in communion with him. Let the source of our life and mission be this food that will not perish but give eternal life to all. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: June 12, 2018"THIS IS MY COMMANDMENT; LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I LOVE YOU, NO ONE HAS GREATER LOVE THAN THIS, TO LAY DOWN ONE'S LIFE FOR ONE'S FRIENDS"
(JOHN 15:12-17) Christ called us to be His friends and we belong to Him. The more we share the life of Christ in the Eucharist, the more our friendship grows deeper and will bear much fruit. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: June 11, 2018"I may be able to speak the languages of men and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or clanging bell."
(1 Corinthians 13:1-13) God created us with his love, for God is love. He feeds us with his unconditional love in the Eucharist to commune with us and be part of us. May we never get tired of loving everyday to all who need love because we are meant to do it in the way Christ did with us. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: June 10, 2018"Amen i say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an everlasting sin."
(Mark 3:20-35) Jesus is inviting as that in the midst of fake news around us we are called to announce the good news. As disciples of Christ living in faith may we focus what is God's will and look for the unseen eternal dwelling made by God for all of us. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: June 9, 2018This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it again. No one takes it away from me but i lay down on my own. I have the power to lay it down, and power to take it up again. This command i have received from my Father. (John 10:17-18)
Jesus already gave His life as food to nourish all of us through the Eucharist. May our life become nourishment to our family and to all human beings by touching and caring the suffering flesh of Christ in others. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

(Hebrews 5:1-3) Everyday we eat food to nourish our body. But Jesus provides us food that is lasting and true that will nourish and strengthen us in order to live a life pleasing to Him. May our hearts desire this food that He gives us everyday. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: June 3, 2018While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, & gave it to them, & said, "Take it: this is my body." Then he took a cup ..."This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many." (Mark 14:22-24)
It is a good reminder of how important is the Eucharist to each one of us as Christ's followers & believers. How do we value the Eucharist that we participate & receive? Are we really convinced that it is not just simply an obligation to attend the Holy Eucharist but a part of our being? I am a Christian & so I am receiving Jesus in my life. Happy feast of the Corpus Christi! VD PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: June 2, 2018He depended on us in putting his life into our hands; in the Eucharist He needs our hands, he needs our feet, he needs our entire being. (Cf familiares de dios, p.441)
How humble is our God that eventhough He is already almighty but still He needed our entire being especially in the Eucharist. God's self-giving in the Eucharist is endless. How about us ? How is our attitude towards this humility that Jesus is showing in His self-giving in the Eucharist? VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: May 31, 2018What unifies all of us, the centre is the Eucharist...The Christian sign is unity in love. - cf. Familiares de Dios p. 438
The Eucharist is for everyone, wherever you came from or whatever state of life you are in. Participating in the Holy mass gives us joy and a feeling of belongingness to the church. The Eucharist enables us to love and unites us as a people of God. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES

Prayer Buddies: May 23, 2018"So then, my friends, because of God's great mercy to us I appeal to you: Offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to him". (Romans 12:1)
Each of us has been called to perform different roles in this journey of faith. Offering our lives to God through service of the word makes us united with him. Jesus is inviting us to go deeper in our prayer so that we can reach out more people especially those who are lost. VERBUM DEI PRAYER BUDDIES |
