Daily Guidelines: December 11, 2020

Gospel: Matthew 11:16–19
 
"But wisdom is vindicated by her works." (cf. Matthew 11:19)
 
In today’s Gospel, Jesus comments on how people end up on living ironically and how they criticize those who righteously live their lives. It is inevitable to be amazed on thinking how attitudes of old continue to be passed on from generations to generations.
 
At present we could vividly see the same thing narrated in the Gospel happening in our society – the wicked trying to disgrace the righteous and vindicate their unjust works. But let this be a call for us to courageously live out our faith in spite of the presence of critics who only notice the moments of our fall.
 
May we have the same courage that John the Baptist has displayed in facing those who persecuted him.
