Lk 1:39-56 “Sing a song of praise” In today’s gospel, Mary is singing her song of praise to the Lord. In this time of prayer, we too are encouraged to give our thanks and praises to the ever loving God who loves us so much. We have conquered many battles in our life. God has healed us from our sickness. God has filled our spiritual hunger. God has provided us our daily needs and many more. We are all testimonies of how great our God is. As witnesses of God’s greatness, let us testify to the people for them to say with conviction the great love of God. #PrayVD

Jn 16:16-20 “Because I am going to the Father” Jesus said to His disciples that He will go now to the Father. Jesus has to go to show to us the kingdom of God and the kingdom is real. Jesus has to go so that He can say to us “I’m in My Kingdom” and to welcome us personally. God never abandoned us but shows His kingdom to be our refuge. The more we get closer to Jesus , the more we get closer to His kingdom. Holy Spirit, may you grant us the strength and courage to bring God’s kingdom to your people. #PrayVD

Jn 16:12-15 “He will guide you to all truth” The Holy Spirit knows everything about Jesus, everything that the Father has. The Holy Spirit is showing to us God’s kingdom where life is eternal. God loves us so much that he sent the Holy Spirit to revealto us the truth that there is eternity despite the deaths we are experiencing in our daily lives to give us hope and for our paths to be always directed to Jesus and be with Him for the whole eternity. We thank you Lord for revealing the truth to us. May You bless us also so that we may be able to reveal the truth to others #PrayVD

Jn 16:5-11 “I will send you the Spirit” Jesus has promised to us that He will send the Holy spirit to us to reveal us the truth. The truth that will guide us while we are journeying in this world. With so many difficult realities we encounter, we are blessed with the Holy Spirit to see those realities with the eyes of faith. It is a call to us to take actions on those realities. Let us go deeper with our prayer and ask the Lord for the strength to face those realities. #PrayVD

Gospel: Jn 15: 26- 16:4a “You have been with Me from the beginning” Jesus said “ the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering worship to God”. We are experiencing this in our world today. It seems that things which are previously bad are normal nowadays like littering, stealing, or any other sinful deed. We who are with God are encouraged to bring back what is right through living the word in our lives and be the disciple to bring change to the world. Holy Spirit, may you guide us always in spreading the truth to the world #PrayVD

Gospel: John 14:23-29 “My peace I give to you.” – John 14:27 Despite so many people claiming that they can bring peace to our country or our world, many people are still in hunger and thirst for a genuine peace. It is only in Jesus that we can find the peace that we need – peace that comes from his unconditional love. The kind of peace that he gives us is both a blessing and responsibility – it is grace and a mission. To receive his peace means to nourish our lives and to share this peace to others. For the ones who love Him and obeys Him can receive and give his peace. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 15:18-21 “I have chosen you from the world.” – John 15:19 In a world where people values materialism, Jesus invites us to value the thoughts that matters. In a world where people are so competitive that they must go up from each other, Jesus invites us to be humble and stretch a helping hand to others. Jesus in today’s Gospel is inviting us to be different, to go against the current, against the ways of the world. Though the world may hate us because of being different from it and because of Him, Jesus assures us that He would help and guide us. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 15:12-17 “Love one another as I have loved you.” – John 15:12. God teaches us to love others as he loves us. He loves all the people disregarding their attainment, status, profession or whatever others think of them – God loves without exemption. Let us learn to love as he loved, not looking for reasons to love others but just to love without asking for anything in return. Love requires sacrifices and patience. Let us love without conditions, without limitations. What Jesus tells us in today’s Gospel is not just an option but a call for total obedience. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 15:9-11 “Remain in my love.” – John 15:9 Sometimes it is easy for us to remain with people who entertain us when we are lonely and it is also easy to remain in our ways – our comfort zone. And sometimes we do not have the perseverance to remain in Jesus, to remain in His love. When we couldn’t have an immediate answer to our prayers and when we can't understand His will, it becomes hard for us to remain in Him. Today, Jesus invites us to remain only in His love that conquers even death. Let us ask ourselves today could we remain in His love? #PrayVD

Gospel: John 15:1-8 “Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit.” – John 15:5 We are called to live a fruitful life and Jesus in today’s Gospel talks about fruitfulness desiring that we bear much fruit. We need to be connected to the source and in remaining in Him we bear much fruit that glorifies the Father and making us his true disciples. Let us ask the Lord for patience and perseverance to remain in us, humbly accepting that without Him we can do nothing. #PrayVD |
