Gospel – Mark 9:2-10 "Listen to him.” In the Gospel Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves. Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” Our God sends his beloved son not only to save us but also to show and teach us how to live. The word of God is always there in the church, in our house, in the community but sometimes we ignore it because we focus our mind in our problems, worries and selfishness . Because of that, we live in the wrong way. If we try to open our minds and hearts to listen to him we can assure you that we will have a better life. Lord give us knowledge to understand your words. Amen." #PrayVD

Gospel, Matthew 5:43-48 love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you; It's not easy for us to understand each other because of our different opinions, beliefs and attitude. With that, we usually have conflicts. The Gospel tells us that we still need to love our neighbours. Even if we have differences, we should respect them the way we want to be respected. And if they do not stop doing something against us, don't fight back in revenge but conquer evil with love. Do not condone the evil deed but do not hate the sinner. We should pray for them, not to condemn, but to ask God to give us courage to help each other grow into holiness. #PrayVD

Gospel, Matthew 5:20-26 Settle with your opponent quickly The Gospel is telling us that we need to become humble and we need to learn to communicate to our neighbours. It doesn't matter who made the mistake. The most important thing is we try to humble ourselves and to compromise with our enemy so we can forgive each other. If we want to stop hatred and to have a peaceful mind we needed to learn how to forgive. #PrayVD

Gospel, Matthew 7:7-12 “Will be given to you” Our God is a loving God. He is a good parent to all of us, but it does not mean that he will give everything to us. He doesn't want us to become lazy. So If we need something in our life we should work for it and he will provide everything we need. Lord God thank you for everything you've given to us. #PrayVD

Gospel, Luke 11:29-32 there is something greater than Jonah here. Jonah is the prophet used by God to save the people of Nineveh, so the question is; if there is something greater than Jonah?. Can we be greater than Jonah? We know that no one can be above our God and Jesus is inviting us to be like Him. He gave us different tasks to fulfil, so it isn't important if we will be greater than Jonah or not. The important thing is, if we do what the Lord has given to us. Lord Jesus helps us to fulfil the tasks that that the Lord gave us. #PrayVD

Gospel, Matthew 6:7-15 "if you forgive others their failings;" It's not easy to forgive especially if this is the cause of our loneliness, problems and desolation, but there is a reason why we need to forgive them. Not only for them but also for ourselves. We will never be truly happy if we are burdened in our hearts because we did not forgive our neighbours. We are still human who also make mistakes to our brothers, sisters and also our God. The Gospel is reminding us to forgive because God is always there to forgive us. #PrayVD

Gospel Matthew 16:13-19 "Who do you say I am?" In the gospel Jesus asked Peter who do you say I am? Then Simon Peter spoke up and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus is not only the son of the living God but he is also the symbol of hope and love. He also gives us encouragement to believe that we can overcome our fears and problems. O Lord Jesus you are my savior and thank you for your guidance. #PrayVD

Mk 1: 12-15 “Repent and believe in the Gospel” While praying for the gospel in this first Sunday of lent, Jesus tells us how He spent His 40 days in the desert. He was tempted but Jesus shows His strong love to the Father. Even when hungry he remained faithful. In this season of lent, Jesus invites us to spend this 40 days of lent with Him. To be able to do that, we are invited to repent from our sins, to fast on things we usually do and spend more time in prayer, preaching and sharing of faith. And believe in the gospel that we will be able to change our ways. Let us find the meaning of this Lenten season. Let us open our hearts and hear the message of Jesus as we journey towards our salvation. Holy Spirit, grant us the grace to be able to celebrate this season of lent in a meaningful manner so that we may be able to receive the kingdom of God. #PrayVD

Lk 5:27-32 “Follow me” We have learned from the scriptures that every time Jesus said “Follow me”, it means that it is the start of the conversion process. While praying for this gospel, those words of Jesus is enveloped with mystery and amazement at the same time. How could those words converted a tax collector who was recognized as a sinner. In this season of lent, Jesus is inviting us to undergo a conversion process in our life. Let us deepen on this mysterious yet amazing invitation of Jesus to follow Him. In our prayer let us open our hearts and hear Jesus saying “Follow me”. Mama Mary, teach us to open our hearts to Jesus so that we can hear His words and be converted as we journey in this season of lent #PrayVD

Mt 9:14-15 “And they will fast” Jesus describes the faithfulness of His disciples when he was questioned by the disciples of John why His disciples do not fast. Jesus answered “Can the wedding guest mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast”. Jesus means that one day he will have to go and physically not be with His disciples but despite of that, He is faithful to His disciples and at the same time His disciples is faithful to Him. Jesus has put so much faith in us that we will follow Him faithfully. Mama Mary, you respond to the faithfulness of God unto you with your faithfulness. Teach us also to put our faith to God because God has put so much faith to us. #PrayVD |
