Gospel: Luke 21:25-28, 34-36 “Be vigilant at all times.” This advent, as we prepare for the usual festivities, we are tempted to become too preoccupied with decorating, partying, eating, shopping, etc. But Jesus warns us in today’s gospel to “not let our hearts become too drowsy from the drunkenness and anxieties of daily life”. After all, advent is all about Christ’s coming. Hence, we must prepare our hearts for Him to enter, and not let them be bombarded by the non-essential things. He invites us to be more aware of the realities around us. Be watchful for those who are neglected, those who feel desolation and despair, those who have lost hope. Many people are desperate to feel His coming, and can we be the ones who can bring Christ to them? #PrayVD |
