Daily Guidelines: February 8, 2019

​February 8, 2019 - Friday
Gospel: Mark 6:14-29

 "The head of John the Baptist."

If we want to follow Christ, we need to both announce the Good News of Christ and to denounce what is contrary to it.  John did this but sadly it cost him his head, his life.  Today, we can ask that special grace of courage from God.  Sometimes we know we need to open our mouths but we keep silent because we are afraid to offend the other or to lose our face, our reputation, our job, etc.  But we realize in the Gospel it is clear, if we truly love God, we would lay down our own image for the sake of what is Good, what is True, what is ok the Gospel.
