January 27, 2019 – Sunday
Gospel: Luke 1:1-4; 4;14-21

"Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing." (Luke 4:21)

The passage that Jesus read expresses the presence of the Spirit upon Him to bring glad tidings to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives, to recover the sight of the blind, and to free the oppressed. Jesus indeed fulfilled this written passage during His public ministry.

This promise of God remains true even up to now. We can always come to Jesus whenever we feel hopeless, blind, and oppressed and He will surely give us the hope, the sight, and the freedom that we long for. Let us always cling to God’s promises because He never disappoints.
