Daily Guidelines: January 4, 2019

Gospel:  John 1:35-42

"The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus."

Many people liked John and yet, when Jesus arrived, John was quick to acknowledge that someone greater than him had come.  So, being true to his humble and obedient nature, he pointed his disciples to Jesus.  It is said in the gospel passage that John's disciples left him and followed Jesus.  This was John's intention all along.  He did not want to use his gifts to glorify himself, but to lead other people to Christ. 

Let this be our intention always: to lead people to become interested to come and see where Jesus lives and to know Him.
