Mt 20:20-28


“The Son of man did not come to be served but to serve and give His life”
 
The gospel is telling to us that Jesus our God has come to us to serve; and followers of Jesus are also meant to serve. Jesus gives us the gift of service so that we may see the joy it brings to us. Imagine the joy brought us by serving our loved ones -- the  joy when we reach out to others.

As followers of Jesus, let us pray with the acts of service Jesus did to all of us. Can you imagine how much joy Jesus has when He serves us with love? In our following of Jesus, we are invited to strive to be in service so that we may experience the joy it will bring to us.
 
Holy Spirit, grant us the strength so that we may be able to serve others with love and be fulfilled with joy that service will bring to us.
