Gospel: Matthew 5:43-48
 
“Love your enemies”
 
“If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that?” Perhaps you have someone in mind as you read this. What is your gut reaction to this challenging teaching of Jesus? The invitation of Jesus to “love your neighbor” includes the unlovable too! Set your gaze on Jesus at the cross, he loved till the end!
 
“Pray for those who persecute you!” Yes, persevere in  prayer . Pray for the gift of forgiveness . Jesus wants nothing less from us . Now, bring to mind the people who have hurt you. Place them before Jesus and ask him to bless them. May healing and peace reign in you and their heart.
