Daily Guidelines: June 30, 2018June 30, 2018 Saturday Gospel: Matthew 8:5-17 "I am not worthy to have you under my roof." (cf. Mt 8:8)
In today's Gospel, Jesus was asked by an army captain to heal his servant who is terribly sick. The captain did not expect such an immediate and generous gesture; he did not expect that Jesus would go to his house. He gave an example by expressing the faith and trust that he has for Jesus. He told Jesus: “Lord, I am not worthy to have You under my roof, just say a word and my servant will be cured.” (cf. Mt 8:8) With so many doubts, distractions (social media, fake news), alternatives, instant solutions, and shortcuts, do we still know where to go or who to call? Do we allow Jesus to enter into our hearts? Do we welcome Him as how we welcome a friend or a family member to our home? Today’s gospel invites us to let Jesus feel our warm welcome as we let Him enter our hearts. #PrayVD |
