Gospel: John 6:60-69

“This saying is hard; who can accept it?” - cf Jn 6:60

Sometimes in prayer, we may be challenged by Jesus to speak up for the truth. And many times in obeying Him, we may not please everyone. As an old saying goes, “Truth hurts.” But we must also remember that “The truth will set us free”. True prayer is hearing not only what we want to hear, but to hear God’s truth. Jesus Himself was left by many of His disciples upon hearing His words. But He did not let this affect Him.
Mother Mary, help us to carry the necessary pain as we stand up for the Truth.
