Gospel: Lk 21:1-4


All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on. – Lk 21:4

No one wants to live poorly, right? We all want to live comfortably that’s why we work so hard to meet our daily needs.

In our gospel today, Jesus gives a strong and contrasting image on how we can truly honor and offer something for Him. It is to offer the poor things and not of extravagant nor wealthy things. The poor widow offered what she has: poverty. It is in what we lack, what can be deficiency in us, what we can consider scarcity, in reality is our richness. 

Do you offer what you have, who you are to Jesus? Today, we are invited to reflect and acknowledge our poverty and humbly offer it to the Lord so it will be sufficient. Amen.
