Gospel: Lk 21:5-11

Do not be terrified; for such things must happen first but it will not immediately be the end - Lk 21:9

We are surrounded with alarming news about crimeas, climate change, storms and earthquakes. With this kind of news, we are filled with fear and terror for the things that may come.

In our gospel, Jesus tells the people that the signs of times should not deceive us into thinking it is the end of the world. Instead, we must know who God is amidst all of this: “I am he.” “Do not follow them! Do not be terrified!”

Mother Mary, help us pray for a heart that is brave and full of trust to the will of God in what is happening to the world of today.
