Gospel: Luke 9:46-50

"For he who is least among you all is the one who is great."

Jesus in today’s Gospel told His disciples a particular attitude to greatness – to be the least. It may be paradoxical how one can be great by being the least but it is true. To be the least means to have an attitude of considering first the cause of many rather than of one’s own self – to be selfless. And this selflessness starts the mission of giving one’s best for the sake of the many rather than being the best out of the many.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus, pray for us to be like Him, the best example of greatness by being selfless, by being the least.
