Gospel: Luke 12:13-21 “Take care to guard all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of possessions.” What the Lord means is we should not be confused with acquiring material goods for our family as much as we can. We must keep our focus on Heaven. We have to be happy no matter how much we have: with many or few. Acquiring too many goods may be detrimental to man’s growth. In a way it can harden our hearts and limit our interests, our vision to do greater things, even destroy relationships. We become distant from God, family and neighbor because our self-interest has become a priority. Let us hope in Jesus and ask Mary to help put our hearts in the right place- in God. |
