Gospel: Luke 12:35-38 “Let your loin be girded and light your lamps and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when comes and knocks.” Lamps burning and girded loins are symbols of a readiness to go on a journey, or expecting someone to arrive, and ready to open the door. Jesus tells us to be constantly alert, vigilant, on the look out, for occasions of sin since the Lord may come knocking anytime. We can’t afford to be negligent, or lukewarm in our attitude. When we let that happen, we are led astray easily, distracted by every small temptation. A lukewarm person allows worldly matters, bad thoughts, selfishness to enter his life, thus weakening his resolve. Before long, he has fallen away into sin and away from the Lord. Let’s hang on to the Lord, let’s build our strength and faith in Him on a daily basis. #PrayVD |
