Gospel: Luke 10:1-12
"The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few."
In today’s Gospel, Jesus sent His disciples into mission to every town and with 72 disciples, He acknowledged the need for more which He likened to laborers for a plentiful harvest. There are many things to work on for goodness of our society but there are only few who persevere. It’s because not everyone is available or not everyone offers their availability. The best ability is availability and it is what Jesus needs in each one of us – availability to mission.
St. Francis of Assisi, help us that even in our poverty, we can be available to the mission given us. May we always be ready to accept His call.
