Gospel: Luke 10:38–42
 
“There’s a time to work but there’s a time to pray.” (Excerpt from song “Come Away”)
 
Today’s Gospel narrates to us the encounter of Martha and Mary with Jesus in which Martha was worried and distracted with her tasks while Mary on the hand have chosen to do the better part – listening to the Lord.
 
Occupied with handful of things to do, we sometimes tend to be like Martha overseeing the part of having that fulfilling moment of encounter with the Lord. Today’s Gospel reminds us that we also need to come away and spend some time to pray having a heartfelt conversation with Jesus.
 
May we be conscious also with our spiritual need to be nourished through enriching our prayer life.
