Gospel: John 19:25-34 O blessed mother, you warm our hearts with the Spirit of your Son In our gospel, Jesus entrusts the beloved disciple representing the whole church to Mary, his mother at the foot of the cross. Mary’s strong faith amidst adversity truly shows she stood as a mother leading the situation. Mother Mary, as we celebrate your memorial as the Mother of the Church., we pray that you may continue to inspire us through your warm love and light to love the people entrusted to us. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 14:15–16, 23b–26 “The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you.” – John 14:26 Today, as we celebrate the solemnity of Pentecost, Jesus assures us in our faith by giving us the Advocate who would be with us always – the Holy Spirit. By being the Advocate, the Holy Spirit supports and accompanies us in our faithful endeavours as Christians giving us the knowledge and courage that we need in order for us to fulfil our mission. Let us faithfully confide on the Holy Spirit as we do our mission in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Gospel: John 21:20–25 “If every one of them were written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written” – John 21:25 The catch of today’s Gospel is to acknowledge the manyblessings that we receive in our daily lives instead of counting them. Jesus has done many great things for us and to acknowledge these great things is one of our means tofollowing Him. May our hearts be open to His graces so our lives would be blessed into acknowledging His mighty works to us. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 21:15–19 “Do you love me?...Feed my sheep.” – John 21:17 In today’s Gospel, Jesus is not really trying to know if Peter loves Him but is trying to know how faithful Peter is to thelove that he has for his master. Love is not only about words proclaimed, but it is also about actions committed. This principle called Peter into commitment as he proclaimed his love to Jesus – a mission to feed the hungry sheep of the Good Shepherd. Today, we are called to act out our love for Jesus by fulfilling our mission to others – our mission to love. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 17:20–26 “The world does not know you, but I know you.” – John17:25 Jesus came not only for the world to know His name but for all the people to understand the love of the Father. And He fulfilled this mission by being a channel for us to the Father’s love. Like Jesus who made this love known to the world, let us also be a channel of the Father’s love to one another. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 17:11b–19 “Your word is truth.” – John 17:17 As the society grasps for truth in its daily endeavors, some people lie for the sake of their own convenience. Fake news is being spread as if it’s the daily commodity for the people. And with the innocent being fed with lies, comes dignity being devoured by the wicked. In today’s Gospel, Jesus is thoughtfully praying for our protection and guidance; that the words that we would hear and receive are of God’s words of truth. His prayer alsocomes with an invitation for us to be vigilant and wise with the words that we give to and receive from others. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 17:1–11a “For the words that you gave to me I have given to them.” – John 17:8 The act of sharing also gives a sense of belongingness. Withthe act of sharing the Father’s words, Jesus gave His disciplesa sense of belonging to the Heavenly Father. This attitude should also be with us as we share the Word of God to our brothers and sisters who are in pursuit of acceptance. May we be compassionate in sharing the words that we receive from the Father as Jesus taught us to love one another. #PrayVD

Gospel: John 16:29–33 “Take courage, I have conquered the world!” – John 16:33 In a world where one is being persecuted because of his own faith, courage is needed to live what you believe. The streetsmay have eyes as much as the walls have ears; others might be waiting for that moment of throwing criticisms to a faithful who stumbles in his way. But we should not lose our faithbecause we have our advocate – the Holy Spirit. In today’s Gospel, Jesus inspired His disciples to take courage in living what they believe. Let us also take this as anencouragement for us to enduringly stand for the truth as wecourageously live what we believe. #PrayVD

Lk 24:46-53 “And behold I am sending the promise of my Father upon you” In this feast of the Ascension, disciples were filled with great joy as Jesus ascended into heaven and was continually in the temple praising God. We are also disciples of Jesus who live in this time. Do we also experience that great inner joy that only Jesus can give by giving him the highest importance in our everyday lives? Celebrate today for our Lord from on high is ever close to us, ever present to us desiring so much to share in his Divine life. #PrayVD

Jn 16:23b-28 “Because you have loved Me” Loving Jesus will give us complete joy. Whatever we ask of the Father, He will give it because He loves us. He loves us for we love Jesus. Loving Jesus is also loving His people. Loving Jesus is being selfless. Loving Jesus means we are open to listen to Him. Loving Jesus is an everyday communication with Him. Mama Mary’s love to Jesus gave her a complete joy and their loving relationship became fruitful that grants us the salvation. Our loving relationship with Jesus has a fruit that may bring a complete joy to the world. #PrayVD |
