Gospel: Luke 11:5–13 “Ask and it will be given unto you.” (cf. Luke 5:9) In today’s Gospel, Jesus is telling His disciples to persevere in their prayers as He assured them of the Heavenly Father’s mercy. In the same way that Jesus told His disciples, we also are invited by Him to push for more in our prayers and have faith to the mercy of the Father. May we always have that firm perseverance and faith as we pray to the Father. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 11:1–4 “Lord, teach us to pray.” (cf. Luke 11:1) In today’s Gospel, Jesus taught the disciples how to pray and in return, He taught them how to pray to the Father. Sometimes we tend to forget to practice our capacity to pray and in doing such, we seem to become unfamiliar with the mercy of the Heavenly Father. Jesus is inviting us today to pray and come to the Father who provides us our daily needs, forgives us our sins, leads us away from temptations and delivers us from evil. Let us ask Mother Mary to teach us how to be faithful in our prayers as we come to the Father. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 10:38–42 “There’s a time to work but there’s a time to pray.” (Excerpt from song “Come Away”) Today’s Gospel narrates to us the encounter of Martha and Mary with Jesus in which Martha was worried and distracted with her tasks while Mary on the hand have chosen to do the better part – listening to the Lord. Occupied with handful of things to do, we sometimes tend to be like Martha overseeing the part of having that fulfilling moment of encounter with the Lord. Today’s Gospel reminds us that we also need to come away and spend some time to pray having a heartfelt conversation with Jesus. May we be conscious also with our spiritual need to be nourished through enriching our prayer life. #PrayVD

Gospel: Luke 10:25–37 Good Neighbor Today’s Gospel, gives us the well-known parable of the Good Samaritan in which we hear about the goodness of a person least expected by the Jews to be as such to his neighbor. Deep beneath every man’s heart lies the seed of goodness and it is for one to let it grow and bloom into living. Today Jesus is inviting us to live out the good neighbor in us expressing love and showing mercy to everyone. Let us ask Mother Mary to inspire us into goodness towards our neighbor. #PrayVD

Mt 21:33-43 “Go and bear fruit” The kingdom of God was already shown to us by God. The kingdom of God is at hand even when we are still on earth. The moments when we are fulfilled, and at peace are the evidence of the kingdom. But though we have experience it, sometimes we still lose it. The gospel said that yje kingdom of God will be given to those who produce its fruit. That is the secret so that we will be always at God’s kingdom. We are invited to go and bear fruit so that we are always at home in God’s kingdom even if we are still on earth. Holy Spirit, help us to be more fruitful so that we may be able to nourish others’ faith and we may be always obtain the kingdom of God #PrayVD

Lk 10:17-24 “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven” The 72 disciples whom Jesus sent has returned. In the gospel, when Jesus said to the 72 disciples “but rejoice, because your names are written in heaven”, Jesus was full of joy. Joyful because the disciples saw and experienced the kingdom of God. Can you imagine the pleasureable feeling when you put joy in Jesus’ heart? We are invited to bring joy to God by writing more names in heaven. We preach, we evangelize, we give hope. Holy Spirit, ignite our hearts so that we may proclaim God to others and at the same time bring joy to God. #PrayVD

Mt 18:1-5,10 “And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me” Jesus said in the gospel that when we receive a child then we receive also Him. Who are those children that we have to welcome in our life? Our relationship with Jesus are like a child – it may be full of questions and curiosity. Blessed are we who have grown our relationship with Jesus. Now Jesus is inviting us to welcome those who have ‘childlike’ faith and be a brother, a sister, a friend, or a parent to those ‘children’ and accompany them as they grow their relationship with Jesus. Mama Mary, teach us to open our hearts to others so that we may be able to give Jesus to them and help them grow their relationship with Him. #PrayVD

Lk 10:1-12 “The kingdom of God is at hand for you” Jesus sent the 72 disciples to different towns and told them to proclaim that the kingdom of God is at hand. These words are addressed to us by Jesus. We might have different responses depending on our understanding what kingdom of God is. But the first thing Jesus tells to the disciples that the first thing they have to say to the people is “Peace be with you”. God is offering you peacefulness. God wants to heal you. Physical, emotional and even healing on broken relationships. We are invited to reflect on the kingdom of God so that we may be able to accept it and live on it. Holy Spirit, help us to understand the kingdom of God so that we may be able to live out God’s promises and to share it to others #PrayVD |
